Hospitality Women Power VENZA’s Future
Today’s new team members dictate tomorrow’s direction
“For six years I had the pleasure to watch the VENZA team grow and make a genuine impact within the industry. The company culture has always inspired me and when the opportunity presented itself to join the team, I couldn’t say yes fast enough.”
— Anne Boon, Project Manager
While no one can know what tomorrow may bring, VENZA works to tip the scales of destiny toward an ever more comprehensive appreciation for the needs of the hospitality industry. They are doing this by recruiting top talent, placing them in positions of power, and getting out of their way. Coincidentally, these new leaders are all women. This is a welcome confirmation of the growing trend toward greater diversity in hospitality technology leadership.
Customers come first at VENZA. To handle the demands of a growing global footprint (the company now boasts four offices worldwide) and expanding product offerings, they needed to find someone with range. They found that person in Macarena Carballo. Assuming the role of Customer Success Director, Ms. Carballo brings on-property expertise. She cut her teeth in properties from Baltimore to the Bahamas, Georgia to California. Additionally, and equally as important, as the former Customer Success Lead at Novo Global Solutions (SaaS), Macarena possesses the experience needed to roll out technology efficiently and effectively. Ms. Carballo had this to say about joining VENZA: “I am honored to join the VENZA Team and the fight against technology threats around the world. VENZA’s core values represent my fundamental beliefs, and I am committed to providing guidance, first-class customer success, and turning ordinary moments into extraordinary value. I am proud to be part of the Team and look forward to achieving results by building trust and fostering partnerships with integrity.”
Formerly responsible for rollout out VENZA’s data security awareness and privacy regulation compliance programs at Karisma Hotels & Resorts, Barbara Espinosa now leads as the Product Manager. Ms. Espinosa brings her intimate appreciation for what works (and what needs improvement) and now charts the way forward for VENZA. With her expanding team of programmers, developers, analysts and designers, Barbara drafts and navigates progress along the company’s product roadmap. Ms. Espinosa had this to say about joining VENZA: “The hospitality industry faces great challenges implementing effective measures to maintain compliance with the emerging data privacy laws and international certifications in constant evolution. Witnessing and experiencing first-hand the relief that comes with the support of expert partners like VENZA, I feel humbled in joining this team and contributing future solutions that light the way for hoteliers around the world to stay one step ahead and conquer compliance together.”
Priding itself on the 13+ years of building a business based on strong relationships centered in respect and trust, finding a VP of Sales – Strategic Accounts meant finding someone with deep roots in hospitality and a sterling reputation for integrity. There could be no person better suited to fulfill that position than Juli Barter, formerly the Director of Client Relations at POST Integrations. Industry players likely have heard Ms. Barter at conferences given she is a sought-after speaker on topics such as credit card processing best-practices. Juli’s experience as a former CFO for St. Andrews Country Club in Florida will also help to enhance VENZA’s offerings to provide value to that segment of the industry. Ms. Barter had this to say about joining VENZA: “I am thrilled for the opportunity to work for such a visionary company that values people, teamwork and building long-term relationships with their clients.”
Finally, after many years of managing the VENZA account for Hospitality Upgrade magazine, Anne Boon assumes the role of Project Manager to lead special initiatives throughout the organization with a particular focus on Sales and Marketing. Ms. Boon’s sweeping understanding of the industry’s pulse coupled with her appreciation of the many things that are unique to VENZA, make her a powerful communications agent for the organization in the marketplace. It could not be more natural than to have Anne officially join the family. Ms. Boon had this to say about joining VENZA: “For six years I had the pleasure to watch the VENZA team grow and make a genuine impact within the industry. The company culture has always inspired me and when the opportunity presented itself to join the team, I couldn’t say yes fast enough.”
